Belenergia celebrates 15 years of industrial innovation and accelerates its European expansion.

Belenergia celebrates 15 years of industrial innovation and accelerates its European expansion.

As an integrated industrial platform for renewable energy and the circular economy, Belenergia secured nearly €400 million in financing in 2025, including €300 million dedicated to its productive assets. As it celebrates its 15th anniversary, the Group is preparing to commission 8 new biomethane industrial plants in Italy. In addition, Belenergia relies on more than 1,000 MW of solar, wind and energy storage projects under development to continue its expansion across Europe.

Founded in 2011 around its first photovoltaic projects in Italy, Belenergia has gradually expanded its activities into wind, biomass, biogas and, later, biomethane. The Group now develops, finances, builds, and operates its infrastructure through integrated control of the full asset lifecycle across the value chain. This industrial model, built and proven in Italy, is now being deployed in new European markets with the same long-term commitment to responsibility and sustainability.

BELENERGIA IN NUMBERS

  • 69 MW of operating solar capacity (+250 MW under construction).
  • 21 MW of operating wind capacity (+70 MW permitted).
  • 2,549 Sm³/h of installed biomethane capacity (nearly 5,000 Sm³/h under construction).
  • 446,934 t of organic material processed in 2025.
  • 124,765 t of CO₂ equivalent avoided in 2025.
  • 200+ employees.

"Belenergia's change in scale is already a reality. It can be measured in the diversity of our activities, the ambition of our portfolio, and above all in the expertise we have brought together. Our industrial model is now fully established. The challenge for the coming years is to deploy it on a larger scale across Europe, while retaining our ability to make decisions and act close to the ground," says Vincent Bartin, Chairman and founder of Belenergia.

A NEW CYCLE OF COMMISSIONING

In 2025, Belenergia's facilities injected 408 GWh of renewable electricity, including 68 GWh from solar, 94 GWh from wind, and 104 GWh from bioenergy. They also produced 142 GWh of biomethane.

This existing output will soon be complemented by a major commissioning program, particularly in biomethane and solar. By the end of 2026, Belenergia plans to complete the upgrading of its biogas facilities to biomethane in northern Italy, as well as the commissioning of 8 new industrial units across Italy. This will bring its production to approximately 700 GWh per year.

In solar, the Group has more than 900 MW under development and construction. Among its flagship projects is the Lentini photovoltaic project in Sicily, authorized for a capacity of 185 MW AC, for which construction is beginning.

"Belenergia now has a genuine industrial platform. The projects under construction, particularly in biomethane, show that we have already turned a corner. We must now convert our portfolio into operational capacity, with unwavering discipline on safety, costs, timelines, and performance," says Nicolas Baron, General Manager, Industrial and Operational Activities.

SEVERAL STAGES OF REINFORCEMENT TO SUPPORT INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT

Initially funded primarily by its founders, the Group has progressively broadened the sources of financing for its investments.

In 2021, the Mid Infra fund, managed by Schroders Capital Management France, became a shareholder in the Group.

In July 2024, Belenergia strengthened its equity by €190 million with the entry of RGREEN INVEST, through its INFRAGREEN V fund, and FOR TALENTS. This transaction was aimed at supporting the construction of new renewable assets, increasing biomethane production, and advancing the Group's expansion across Europe.

Jacques Edouard Lévy, Chief Executive Officer of Belenergia, states: "In 2025, Belenergia secured nearly €400 million in financing and invested €300 million in its productive assets, enabling the Group to continue its development. Moreover, more than 70% of its revenues are covered by regulated tariffs or long-term energy sales contracts, notably PPAs and BPAs."

EXTENDING A PROVEN ITALIAN INDUSTRIAL MODEL TO EUROPE

Having built its industrial platform in Italy, Belenergia intends to deploy it selectively in European markets where its expertise can meet clear needs in renewable energy and organic matter recovery.

As the Group's main industrial proving ground, Italy remains at the center of this strategy and accounts for a significant share of capacity under construction and development. France and the Iberian Peninsula serve as additional growth platforms within a broader European ambition.

In France, Belenergia already operates a 300 Sm³/h biomethane unit that was recently upgraded and is developing more than 2,000 Sm³/h of new projects.

In the Iberian Peninsula, the Group is primarily developing biomethane opportunities, drawing on the region's agricultural density and its still-underused organic residues in Spain and Portugal. This positions Belenergia as a pioneer in a market where biomethane remains only weakly developed. This European expansion is not a new line of business for Belenergia. Rather, it represents the geographic deployment of an already established model, combining:

  • recovering local organic matter;
  • developing projects in partnership with local communities;
  • and maintaining industrial control over assets throughout their lifecycle.

In line with its industrial integration strategy, the Group focuses on complementary growth drivers within its core business: infrastructure (energy storage and sales) and the circular economy (innovation in recovering by-products).

In 2025, the Group processed 446,934 tonnes of organic matter and avoided the emission of 124,765 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent. These results reflect how renewable energy production, organic matter treatment, and solutions for agriculture and the circular economy work together.

On the occasion of its fifteenth anniversary, Belenergia wishes to thank its employees, partners, investors, institutions, and the local communities and regions that have contributed to its development. The Group is entering its next phase with confidence, while remaining mindful of the industrial, environmental, and human responsibilities that come with its growth.
